Prayer to Receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit
(Including Jesus’ words: “I must go so you receive the Comforter”)
Father God, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, I come before You with full faith, full surrender, and full expectation. You promised the Holy Spirit to every believer, and I stand on that promise without wavering. “For the promise is unto you.” (Acts 2:39) I refuse to doubt. I refuse to hesitate. I receive Your Spirit now.
Lord Jesus, You declared with authority, “It is expedient for you that I go away… if I depart, I will send Him unto you.” (John 16:7) You went so the Comforter could come. You ascended so the Spirit could descend. You finished Your work so the Holy Spirit could begin His work in me. And today, I boldly ask You — baptize me with the Holy Spirit and with fire.
“He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire.” (Matthew 3:11) Jesus, I ask You boldly: Fill me now. Saturate me now. Overflow me now. Every door of my heart is open. Every wall is down. Every part of me is yielded to Your Spirit.
Holy Spirit, I welcome You. I invite You. I receive You. Fall upon me now. “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost.” (Acts 2:4) Fill me the same way. Fill me with power. Fill me with fire. Fill me with boldness. Fill me with Your presence until nothing in me remains untouched.
I receive Your baptism by faith. “That we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” (Galatians 3:14) I receive Your fire. I receive Your anointing. I receive Your boldness. I receive Your heavenly language. I receive Your supernatural strength. I receive Your power to overcome every attack of the enemy.
Holy Spirit, take over my mind. Take over my heart. Take over my desires. Take over my voice. Take over my prayer life. Take over my worship. Lead me. “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” (Romans 8:14) Teach me. “He shall teach you all things.” (John 14:26) Pray through me. “The Spirit itself maketh intercession for us.” (Romans 8:26)
I declare boldly: I am filled with the Holy Spirit. I am baptized in the Holy Spirit. I am empowered by the Holy Spirit. I am sealed by the Holy Spirit. “Ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise.” (Ephesians 1:13)
Holy Spirit, remain upon me. Rest on me. Flow through me. Let Your fire burn in me. Let Your voice guide me. Let Your presence transform me. Let Your power strengthen me. Let Your fruit grow in me. Let Your gifts operate through me.
Father, thank You for baptizing me with Your Spirit. Thank You for pouring Him out abundantly. “Which He shed on us abundantly.” (Titus 3:6) Thank You for filling me with Your power. Thank You for igniting me with Your fire. Thank You for transforming me from the inside out.
I receive Your Spirit fully. I welcome Your Spirit completely. Holy Spirit — take over.
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
Closing Prayer After Receiving the Baptism of the Holy Spirit
(Next Steps, Daily Walk, and Daily Surrender)
Father God, I thank You with all my heart for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Thank You that I have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the fire of God, and the power from on high. “Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you.” (Acts 1:8) Today, I acknowledge that Your Spirit now lives in me, fills me, leads me, and empowers me.
Holy Spirit, thank You for coming. Thank You for filling me. Thank You for resting upon me. Thank You for igniting me with Your fire. Thank You for transforming my heart and renewing my mind. “He saved us… by the renewing of the Holy Ghost.” (Titus 3:5) I honor Your presence. I welcome Your voice. I yield to Your leading.
Now, Holy Spirit, teach me how to walk with You daily. Teach me to listen. Teach me to obey. Teach me to stay sensitive to Your voice. “He shall teach you all things.” (John 14:26) Help me build a life of prayer, worship, and surrender. Help me grow in the Word. Help me walk in holiness. Help me stay filled every day.
Holy Spirit, strengthen my spirit. Guide my decisions. Correct my steps. Lead me into truth. “When He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth.” (John 16:13) Help me crucify my flesh, resist temptation, and walk in victory. Help me bear Your fruit — love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Lord, show me my next steps. Show me how to grow. Show me how to serve. Show me how to walk boldly in the calling You have placed on my life. “Stir up the gift of God, which is in thee.” (2 Timothy 1:6) Let Your gifts operate through me. Let Your fire remain upon me. Let Your presence be my daily companion.
Holy Spirit, fill my home. Fill my mind. Fill my atmosphere. Fill my conversations. Fill my worship. Fill my prayer life. Fill my day. Fill my night. Fill every part of my life with Your presence and power.
Father, thank You for sealing me with Your Spirit. “Ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise.” (Ephesians 1:13) Thank You for empowering me to live for You. Thank You for giving me strength to walk in obedience. Thank You for giving me boldness to stand in faith. Thank You for giving me fire to pray, worship, and witness.
Holy Spirit, I surrender daily. I yield daily. I listen daily. I obey daily. Take over my life — every day, in every way.
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
